About the region
The Koroška region encompasses 12 municipalities, connected by three valleys - Mežiška, Mislinjska and Drava.
It is one of the most hilly and forested regions in Slovenia. Although small, it is all the more diverse and picturesque. Previous centuries were marked here by mining, ironmaking, the wood industry and traditional handicrafts. The pride of the people of Koroška is also the Church of St. Ursula, which is located on Uršlja gora (1699 m), just below the peak, at an altitude of 1678 meters, making it the highest church in Slovenia.
