Slovenj Gradec is the administrative, economic and cultural centre of the Mislinj Valley and the oldest town in Koroška, having been granted town rights as early as 1267. Its pleasant location was made possible by its shelter between Uršlja gora and the neighbouring Pohorje, where today travellers can enjoy beautifully maintained hiking and cycling trails, among which the Štrekna – cycling trail along the route of an abandoned railway is worth highlighting. The central tourist and recreational centre of Koroška is located in nearby Kope. The town is known for its artists and numerous cultural and social events. The Koroška Gallery of Fine Arts, the Koroška Provincial Museum and the Hugo Wolf Museum are particularly worth a visit. The lively cultural activity has given the town good recommendations abroad, so that in 1989 the UN awarded it the eminent honorary title – the city of Messengers of Peace. In addition to numerous awards for its tidiness, Slovenj Gradec has also received the title of Green Tourist Destination.

The Jenina Nature Park covers an area of about 10 hectares and represents an optimal environment for the construction of a glamping village and an eco-hotel with an estimated 50 rooms, a water thermal park, a sports and recreation center, a wellness and holistic center. The development guidelines for the construction of the Jenina Nature Adventure Park are based on thermal water, which springs from a new research well.

The location is surrounded by untouched nature, due to the proximity of forests, the natural park is surrounded by air rich in oxygen, which has a very positive effect on the human organism and health. Sufficient distance from the city center ensures peace and relaxation, which is especially important for calming down after everyday stress. The location offers numerous opportunities for sports and recreational activities, from hiking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, ..., to relaxation and wellness activities. The Kope ski center is also located nearby. In cooperation with the Slovenj Gradec Hospital, spa wellness can also be developed.
