Boštjan Šumnik , the company's founder, with many years of experience in healthcare, believes that massage is not just a touch on the body, but a holistic approach to improving physical and mental health. We spoke with Boštjan about his beginnings and the mission of BOTYANG.

How did it all start?

"My story began with a desire to learn something new – something that would allow me to help myself and my loved ones. I started with a Tui-na massage course, which I was completely fascinated by. With my new skills, I realized that this could become more than just a hobby. When I saw the call for the PONI project, I knew that this was my opportunity to enter the world of entrepreneurship. I made the biggest decision of my life, quit my job and applied for the call. Thus began the story of the BOTYANG center ."

First steps and challenges

He started without high expectations, but soon realized that promotion was the most important thing. "Massage is not just about touch, it's about building trust. In entrepreneurship, I'm not just a therapist, but also a marketer, organizer, manager. At the beginning, I was surprised by how much hidden work goes into it."

A turning point

The first victory came in December, the month of gifts. The gift voucher offer became key. "The surprisingly large amount of gift vouchers sold opened the door for me. So people came to me, got to know me, started coming back and I gained my first regular customers. That was the beginning that gave me confidence and confirmation that I was on the right path."

The biggest lesson

Postponing decisions brought him some problems, but also an important lesson: it's better to act quickly, even if everything isn't perfect.

What does the company look like today and what does the future hold?

Today, the BOTYANG center offers a wide range of massage therapies, such as Tui-na massage, sports massage, classic massage, cupping and mechanical lymphatic drainage. "In the next 12 months, I want to expand the range of services and gradually include my wife in the work, so that the support for growth will be even more coordinated."

Message to entrepreneurs

"Start, even if you don't feel ready yet. The business journey isn't always easy, but perseverance, learning, and a focus on people lead to success. There are ups and downs, but if you do your work with your heart, then no journey is difficult. As the old saying goes - after the rain, the sun always shines. Even in entrepreneurship. Change is the only constant, so it's important to be able to follow it and stay true to yourself."
