Koroški Day of Tourism

Graduated in Civil Engineering (UN) and Master of Spatial Planning. He is considered a very ambitious, proactive, principled and connecting person. With a developed vision and clear goals for the future, he is ambitiously opening new chapters and guidelines for the further development of the Koroške region. He is originally from Styria, but his heart has been beating for Koroško in every way for more than a decade.

A master's degree in marketing communication who has always been strongly connected to Koroško and creation within the region. As the head of the tourism department, together with the RRA Koroška team and stakeholders, she introduces innovations and upgrades in the development of the region as a tourist destination, works in a connecting, results-oriented and above all, attentive to everyone who works in tourism - as she says, tourism is about people and that's where everything begins and ends.

Head of NiST Unit and Business Analytics at the Slovenian Tourist Board, where she is responsible for the development and management of the National Tourism Information System (NiST). This digital platform brings together key indicators for sustainable and data-driven decision-making. At the international level, she works as Vice President of the Market Research Group at the European Travel Commission, contributing to research and innovation to strengthen European tourism.

Long-time director of the Vabo company and president of the Slovenian Cable Car Operators Association. Under his leadership, Kope has become one of the fastest growing mountain resorts in Slovenia, with investments of 25 million euros in the last two years. Alongside the renovated Grmovškov dom, the first 4* family hotel Panorama on Koroškem is expected to open soon, and in addition to winter tourism, they are also intensively developing year-round mountain tourism.

Associate Professor in the field of business and organizational sciences in tourism at the Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica, University of Primorska. He dedicated his entire educational path to tourism and hospitality, gaining knowledge in Slovenia, the USA, Switzerland and Australia. His research focuses on the development and management of tourist destinations, the negative impacts of tourism on the environment and improving the quality of research in tourism. He is also active in the field of internationalization of education and strategic planning of destinations. He is the author of numerous scientific articles, textbooks and monographs, and has received numerous awards for his work.

Director of the Public Institute for Tourism, Culture and Sports Podčetrtek (previously long-time director of Visit Podčetrtek, Bistrica ob Sotli, Kozje, GIZ), which focuses on the modernization and development of the tourist organization, integration and digitalization of tourism. For many years, it has successfully connected the private and public sectors, and the synergies are reflected in the recognizable tourist offer, exceptional visits to the destination and numerous awards they have received for their work in the field of tourism.

The Director of the Public Institute for Sports, Culture, Tourism and Youth Activities Radlje ob Dravi swears by open dialogue, cooperation and team synergy in his work. Together with his employees at the public institute, the Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi and other local partners, he strives every day to create a sustainable destination where tourism and life coexist harmoniously, while preserving natural and cultural heritage for future generations. Together with his team, he is committed to the mission of offering unforgettable experiences through innovative practices that respect and nurture the local environment, heritage and community.

Director General of the Directorate for Tourism at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport. She has more than three decades of experience in the tourism industry. Under her leadership, Slovenia is implementing the strategic framework of the Slovenian Tourism Strategy 2022–2028, with an emphasis on sustainable, high-quality and inclusive development of the tourism offer. Her work is guided by a strong vision that tourism is not only about economic profit, but also about social and environmental capital, with a good balance between development, the environment and the quality of life of the population.

The director of Podzemlje Pece, doo, a tourist mine and museum in Mežica, is a doctor of geological sciences with many years of experience in managing cross-border and international projects. As the granddaughter of a miner, she has always been deeply connected to the mining heritage of her place. Together with a team that includes some retired miners who are still active, she strives to offer visitors unforgettable experiences through innovative tourist products that are based on preserving local identity and mining tradition.
