European Mobility Week 2026 connects the entire Koroško: mobility for all generations
Between 16 and 22 September 2026, Koroška was revived under the banner of European Mobility Week, a European initiative that promotes sustainable travel methods, a safer transport environment and more inclusive mobility for all generations. This year's central theme "Mobility for all!" highlighted the importance of solutions that enable safe, accessible and high-quality mobility for children, young people, adults and the elderly.
All Koroške municipalities participated in the European Mobility Week 2026, preparing numerous activities to encourage residents to reflect on their daily travel habits and to try more sustainable forms of mobility. The event connected schools, kindergartens, clubs, sports organizations, local communities and many other actors who co-create a more friendly environment for living.
The Regional Mobility Centre Koroška, which operates within the Regional Development Agency for Koroško, provided municipalities with expert support in the preparation and implementation of European Mobility Week activities and coordinated efforts to develop safe, sustainable and inclusive mobility in the region. Representatives of the regional centre visited some of the activities taking place in the municipalities and, together with local organisers, monitored diverse approaches to promoting sustainable mobility.
Numerous activities throughout the region
During the European Mobility Week, many different events took place at Koroškem - from activities for children and young people, promoting walking and cycling, presenting sustainable forms of transport, social events in public spaces to activities aimed at older and more vulnerable groups.

Activities were aimed at promoting walking, cycling, public transport and other modes of transport that contribute to a more sustainable future, such as FURA Radlje, which organized free transport for participants of European Mobility Week events in the Radlje ob Dravi area. The special transport will encourage the use of community transport and reduce car trips.

The program began with the opening of the European Mobility Week, followed by various physical activities prepared by schools, kindergartens, sports clubs and other associations.
Every path counts
European Mobility Week is not just a week of events, but an opportunity to test solutions that can become part of our everyday lives – from walking and cycling to using public transport and other forms of sustainable mobility.
Thank you to all the municipalities, organizers, associations, schools, kindergartens and visitors who used their energy to co-create European Mobility Week 2026. Together, we prove that change starts with small steps - on the way to school, work, after running errands or on a trip.
