In Prevalje about the possibilities of cycling across the state border with Austria outside the border crossings within the Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark

On Monday, October 13, 2025, as part of the Interreg Slovenia-Austria Connect2tourism project, we organized a workshop in Prevalje on the existing traffic regulations and crossing the state border in the Komelj/Kömmel area. It took place with an emphasis on bicycle traffic.

There is no official border crossing in this area, but it is one of the points that local residents and tourists use to cross the state border between Slovenia and Austria.

At the workshop, representatives of municipalities, development institutions, and the tourism industry from both sides of the state border discussed and sought solutions for the formal regulation of such border crossings and the development of cross-border cycling connections within the Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark.
