Minister Jernej Vrtovec on Koroškem: the third development axis remains a key development priority

The meeting also presented the timeline for the construction of the northern part of the third development axis , which the Regional Development Agency for Koroško prepared in June 2026 under the authority of the Koroške Regional Council . The timeline currently remains largely unchanged, and as individual procedures progress, it will be regularly supplemented and updated to provide the public with the most transparent insight into the progress of the project.

One of the most important conclusions of the meeting is the agreement that coordination meetings between the minister and the mayors of Carinthia will be held every two months . Regular meetings will enable ongoing coordination of activities, faster resolution of open issues, and more effective monitoring of progress in project implementation.

The third development axis represents one of the key development investments for Koroško, as it will significantly improve the region's transport accessibility, increase traffic safety, and create better conditions for economic development, population mobility, and further investments.

The common goal of all partners remains clear - to ensure the fastest possible construction of a modern transport connection, which Koroška has been expecting for many years and represents one of the most important development projects in the region.
