SIW study tour to Koroškem exceeded the expectations of partners from abroad!
Last weekend, the destination Koroška was visited by tourism partners from 19 different countries from all over the world. The Slovenian Tourist Board organized study tours around Slovenia as part of SIW, the 28th Slovenian Tourist Board. At Koroškem, co-organized by the Regional Development Agency for Koroško and tourism providers and partners, we exceeded expectations and presented Koroško as a green, authentic destination for active experiences!
The tour began with a pedal tour along the picturesque Štrekna River , continued with tasting the exceptional cuisine of the Repolusk Inn , and then continued with lunch at the renowned Murko Inn . In addition to the multi-course menu, the participants of the study tour were also impressed by the boutique gin shop and the tasting of their gin. Particularly loud applause was received by the young folklorists Pamčki 2. Elementary School Slovenj Gradec , who beautifully enriched the presentation of Koroške and its cultural heritage.
For even more authentic experiences, they then went to the Perger family , where they were introduced to the rich tradition of lectov (a type of bread), honey and candle making, and the participants also tried their hand at decorating lectov hearts. This was followed by an experiential workshop on real Koroške košta – preparing Đadav (buckwheat) povitnjek, which was carried out by the Dravograd Farmers' Association.
They ended the day in Kope with a mountain barbecue academy, and the very next day they got to know all the new tourist offers that enrich the Kope mountain center, went to energy points , got their hearts pumping in the adrenaline park , and took a walk among the treetops.
Enthusiastic about the natural beauty of Koroške, the hospitality of the providers, and the authenticity of the destination, the partners left Koroško with a clear message that they would be happy to include it in their tourism offer and spread the good word about Carinthia beyond its borders.
