Štrekna and Štrekna bus are entering their 7th season in a refreshed and upgraded version!

Within the framework of the Regional Development Agency for Koroška, we are pleased to inform the public that the popular Štrekna bus is coming again very soon. This year, it is also being upgraded in terms of the pilot activity of the TRANS-BORDERS+ project, which is part of the Interreg Central Europe program. After the problems with implementation in previous years, the project platform offers an opportunity to upgrade in accordance with modern standards and a more appropriate scope of implementation. With more operating days and a more appropriate method of bicycle transportation, this popular cross-border service will be able to offer a better (cross-border) user experience, keep up with the increased demand and thus respond to the new reality of the Štrekna cycle path and the region, which is visited by over 100,000 cyclists annually.

This year, the Štrekna bus will operate from July 1st EVERY DAY in July and August and on WEEKENDS in September.

Štrekna is also entering the new season with a renewed online and offline presence. The renewed website will now offer users an even friendlier image, and above all, more key and practical information, which will make it easier to plan a trip on and around Štrekna and allow cyclists to fully dedicate themselves to what Štrekna has to offer - an attractive experience.

Along with the refreshed digital image, we at RRA Koroška have also provided a new leaflet, which will be available at major tourist points along the Štrekna, where cycling enthusiasts and visitors to the destination will receive key information about the route, tourist information points and bike rental options, as well as tips for exploring the destination. Soon, special Štrekna promotional products will also be available at TICs, with which cycling enthusiasts can take home a souvenir - with a postcard, magnet, T-shirt, reflective strips, and the youngest will be able to decorate their bikes with Štrekna bells.

The new website is also scheduled to launch on July 1, 2025.
