The Alps are facing major challenges: young people can contribute their views and propose solutions
Climate change, biodiversity loss and ensuring the sustainable use of their unique natural and cultural landscape are among the key issues that require coordinated action by politics and society. The upcoming German presidency of the Alpine Convention 2027-2028 has launched a youth project with the aim of young people contributing their views more actively to the Alpine Convention processes.
The Youth Section of the German Alpine Association, together with the German Environment Agency, is offering young people a unique opportunity over the next two years to actively participate in the political processes of the Alpine Convention with their views, experiences and proposals and contribute to shaping the future of the Alps.
Those under 27 who would like to participate in the kick-off meeting on 26-27 September 2026 in Munich or in the youth working group that will operate from October 2026 to March 2028 can register by 19 or 30 July 2026 on the Youth in the Alpine Convention website (English page) .
