The first Cycling Fair is coming to Koroško - a meeting point for mobility, knowledge and socializing

The event is designed as an intergenerational meeting, combining educational, preventive, sports and social content, and promoting sustainable mobility and safe cycling. The organizers emphasize that the concept has already outgrown the framework of a classic fair, as it offers visitors a full-day experience with numerous activities for all generations.

The first edition of the fair will symbolically take place in Dravogradu, at the crossroads of three valleys, and the long-term wish of the organizers is for the event to grow into a traditional regional event, which will be hosted in a different municipality in Carinthia every year.

The main part of the event will be dedicated to the exchange and sale of used bicycles , while visitors will also be able to participate in preventive and educational workshops, a round table, presentations and activities to promote safe mobility. The program includes workshops on cycling culture and traffic rules, presentations on the dangers of using e-scooters and e-bikes , a safe mobility course for all generations, a presentation of the history of cycling on Koroškem and a round table on the challenges of cross-border cycling . Throughout the day, there will also be a free bicycle repair shop , a cycling training area , an exhibition of drawings by students of the Unknown Hostages Elementary School Dravograd, and numerous promotional stands from organizations and companies related to mobility, health and cycling.

Gifts for first-time visitors and a prize draw for all visitors

The organizers will prepare special gifts for the first 200 visitors within the Regional Mobility Center Koroška . They will distribute 100 bicycle water bottles and 100 bicycle bells . All visitors will also be able to fill out a prize coupon with which they will participate in the general draw at 16:45. The organizers have prepared over 30 practical prizes.

Together for safer and more sustainable mobility

Numerous partners and organizations will be presented at the fair, including the Police, the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), the Association of Safe Active Paths, the Maribor Cycling Network, the Pohorje Mountain Biking Association, and companies and providers from the field of cycling and sustainable mobility.

The event represents an important step in promoting an active lifestyle, sustainable mobility and greater traffic safety among all generations of residents of Koroške. The first Cycling Fair at Koroškem is not only an opportunity to buy, sell or exchange bicycles, but above all a place for networking, exchanging knowledge and promoting sustainable forms of mobility. The organizers want to contribute to greater awareness of the importance of safe cycling, an active lifestyle and responsible behavior in traffic, while at the same time offering visitors a pleasant day in the company of like-minded people, experts and numerous partners in the field of mobility.

The organizers believe that the first Cycling Fair will lay the foundations for a new regional tradition. Their wish is that the event will also be revived in other Carinthian municipalities in the coming years and develop into a recognizable meeting place for everyone connected by cycling, sustainable development, and care for a quality living environment.
