The Štrekna Cycling Trail has become the BEST EU PROJECT 2025!

We at the Regional Development Agency for Koroška are very happy and proud, as this result also proves how popular and attractive Štrekna is.

The public vote for the Best EU Project 2025, which was held as part of the "EU Project, My Project" campaign, closed on May 8. 1,952 voters participated, which shows the extraordinary public interest in projects that are changing our everyday lives with the help of European funds.

This year's vote resulted in a tie at the top - and so we have two winners:

1st place: The Štrekna Cycling Trail received 333 votes (17%) and impressed with the transformation of a former railway line into a popular cycling trail that promotes sustainable mobility and revives technical heritage.

1st place: Novo mesto - the city of urban progress also received 333 votes (17%), setting an example of modern, inclusive and sustainable urban development with its extensive renovation of the city center.

3rd place was won by the zaDrava project with 319 votes (16%), one of the largest nature conservation projects in Slovenia, which improves biodiversity and flood safety along the Drava River by restoring habitats.
