Visit of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to Koroškem

On Thursday, 5 February 2026, during the visit of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to Koroškem, representatives of the Regional Development Agency for Koroško, together with the presiding mayor of the Development Council of the Koroške region, Miran Pušnik , met with the Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development, Dr. Aleksandar Jevšek . The Minister informed us that the government had adopted the Programme of Development Incentive Measures at the session, which is important for the further development of Koroške, and discussions also took place on other key development topics in the region.

Statement by Miran Pušnik, Presiding Mayor, to the Development Council of the Koroške region:

"We are pleased with the confirmation of the development incentive program, as it means the arrival of new projects at Koroško that would otherwise not have been possible."

Statement from the director of RRA Koroška, Uroš Rozman:

"For the Koroško region, it is crucial that the projects from the Regional Development Agreement are implemented as soon as possible, as they involve 21 million euros of cohesion funds. We discussed with the minister the acceleration of approval procedures, especially for green infrastructure, sewage, water supply and national cycling connections projects. We received assurances that the procedures will be simplified, which will enable municipalities to sign contracts faster."

Later in the day, we attended a working meeting at the Slovenj Gradec General Hospital with representatives of health institutions and State Secretaries Jasna Humar and Denis Kordež , which was intended to discuss health regions.

We concluded the working visit with a discussion with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Robert Golob , ministers, businessmen and mayors, which took place at the MKC Slovenj Gradec.

Regardless of politics, Koroška remains united and connected, continuing with coordinated steps for sustainable development and a better quality of life in the region.
