Win a great prize - Young Academics Award 2026

The Alpine Convention and the International Scientific Committee for Alpine Research (ISCAR) are once again launching the Young Academics Award, which encourages innovative research by young people on topics related to the Alps.

We cordially invite all students to participate in the Young Academics Award 2026 competition. In addition to the recognitions that will be given to important contributions by young people, there are also excellent prizes available.

This year's Young Academics Award competition focuses on " The Alpine Water Cycle and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate: Dynamics, Impacts and Responses ". Applications are welcome that address the following subtopics:

• dynamics of the water cycle and cryosphere;
• effects on natural hazards, nature and ecosystems;
• responses in the form of technical measures and from a social perspective.

Successful candidates can win one of twelve prizes worth up to 1,000 euros ; in addition to the three main prizes, there are also nine special prizes awarded by partners of the Alpine Convention!

Applications are being accepted until July 31, 2026. All candidates who submit their applications by March 31, 2026 can also compete for one of the ten free places at the ForumAlpinum summer school.
