Who is the project intended for:

The key target groups are local communities and tourism service providers from the Karavanke Geopark area, as well as the general public, especially visitors as active stakeholders in nature protection.

Project benefits:

Project activities and results, in particular green management - cross-border management of visitor flows, preparation of a coordinated use action plan for particularly threatened or stressed areas, help to improve management approaches and develop solutions to halt biodiversity loss and address environmental challenges related to tourism. A participatory approach involving local communities and tourists in pilot locations and providing solutions for more positive human-nature relationships through innovative approaches such as sustainable cross-border management of visitor flows and attractions of the Karavanke Geopark, an action plan for the development, use and management of sustainable tourism, an awareness campaign, etc. They will create opportunities to raise awareness and knowledge about the importance of nature conservation through appropriate management and guidance of visitor flows.
