Improving competences and developing the tourism offer of the leading destination Koroška 2020-2021

Purpose

By implementing the project, we aim to connect key elements of immovable cultural heritage and develop them into a common tourism product. The basis for this will be to improve the interpretation of cultural heritage itself, which we will achieve both with the help of modern digital tools and with improved competences of tourism workers for managing and presenting this content.

Project activities

The central (and also the most financially extensive) part of the project includes the so-called digital innovation of cultural heritage: a self-guided application "Heritage as Inspiration" for independent discovery of the cultural heritage of the destination, including the preparation of interpretive content for 3 thematic modules on three main themes, digital capture and preparation of 3D models of selected immovable cultural heritage units, and the development and implementation of digital interpretation solutions and related 5-star experiences. In addition, several training courses will be conducted within the project to improve the competencies of employees in tourism and hospitality. The program includes the training of interpreter guides, the training of (mountain) bike guides, and a set of training courses to improve the competencies of employees in hospitality and other tourist establishments.
