NaKult - Geological hiking experience in the Karavanke Geopark
The aim of the project is to set and implement a comprehensive strategy for valorising, illustrating and improving awareness of the rich geodiversity of the Geopark. In order to achieve this goal, we are planning the joint development and equipment of a long-distance geo-hiking route around the Karavanke Geopark. This will enable a significant improvement in awareness of geo- and biodiversity. The individual stages, which will be prepared and presented according to local content specificities, will be combined into a long-distance hiking route as a common product. Small interpretation modules - for different target groups - and various programmes and offers will be arranged on and along the route. Attractive starting points and a uniform guidance system will be created, which will enable a long-distance hiking route. To convey the geodiversity as well as other cultural and natural special features on the route, qualified guides are needed, who will be trained within the framework of our own Geopark education on cross-border special features, based on well-prepared professional foundations. All key information will be provided with appropriate information tools. In addition, we will develop special group offers, especially for schools in the form of Geopark adventure camps. The entire product will be organized within the organizational form of the Karavanke Geopark with its partners as its own geodiversity management tool.
NaKult is a cross-border cooperation project implemented within the framework of the Interreg VA Slovenia-Austria Cooperation Programme in the 2014-2020 programming period and is co-financed by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund, and the Province of Koroška.
