DEMO WOOD 2026 public call published: 1.1 million euros for the promotion of wooden construction

The aim of the call is to encourage the wider use of wood in construction, to contribute to the development of the forest-timber chain and to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. We will support public building projects that demonstrate the advantages of wood construction in an innovative way.

Legal entities operating in the public interest, such as municipalities and public institutions, can apply for the call. The subject of co-financing are construction or renovation projects of buildings in which the share of wood in the built-in materials is at least 30 percent, and the share of wood in the building furniture is at least 80 percent. The projects can be in different stages - from conceptual design to partially implemented, but they must not be completed at the time of application.

A total of 1.1 million euros in grants are allocated for the implementation of the public call. An individual project can receive from 100,000 to 250,000 euros, with co-financing of up to 70 percent of eligible costs. Eligible costs include the preparation of project documentation, construction and promotional activities related to raising public awareness of the importance of wooden construction. Projects will be selected based on criteria that include the proportion of wood used, the use of local materials, the level of project readiness, the promotional component and other development and regional aspects. To receive funds, the project must score at least 23 points.

The deadline for submitting applications is June 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted in accordance with the instructions in the tender documentation.
