Call for applications for the introduction of environmental and sustainability labels for providers in the hospitality and tourism industry has been published
The Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport has published a Public Call for Proposals to Promote the Introduction of Environmental and Sustainability Labels for Providers in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. In addition to co-financing the costs of obtaining labels, the Ministry is also co-financing the extension of already obtained environmental or sustainability labels. EUR 200,000 is available, and applications are open until June 15, 2026.
The call aims to encourage hospitality and tourism providers to incorporate ecological and sustainable standards into their operations in tourist accommodation facilities, catering establishments, travel agencies and attractions, as well as mountain and congress centres. The purpose of the call is to obtain an internationally recognised environmental or sustainability label, as well as to maintain or extend it.
The subject of the public tender is divided into two parts:
Lot 1 is co-financing the costs of acquiring an internationally recognised environmental or sustainability label. The environmental or sustainability labels that are subject to co-financing are the following: EU Ecolabel, Bio Hotels, Green Globe, Green Key, Travelife ABTA for accommodation, Travelife ECEAT for travel agencies and tour operators, Ecocamping, Authentic Luxury, Hostelling International Quality & Sustainability, Corp and Good Travel Seal.
Lot 2 is co-financing the costs of extending (re-certification) an already obtained environmental or sustainability label.
