Grants for municipalities, funds, agencies in border problem areas

The Slovenian Regional Development Fund (SRRF), in cooperation with the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development (MCRD), which provides funds from the budget of the Republic of Slovenia, published a public tender for the financial product “LOCAL OPO Tourism” in the Official Gazette, No. 26/2025, on 18 April 2025. The financial product is intended to allocate grants with the possibility of combining development loans to co-finance investments in the construction, renovation or expansion of public tourism infrastructure, which will contribute to the greater attractiveness of tourist destinations and the sustainable development of tourism in border problem areas (BPA). Municipalities, public funds and public agencies can apply for the public tender.

Who can be investors?

Applicants who can apply for the public tender are entities from the border problem area (BPA), organized as:

  • municipality,
  • public fund,
  • public agency,
  • public institution.

The amount of funds available is as follows:

  • grants: €4.1 million (from ICRD sources)
  • loan: €20 million (from SRRS)


The amount of possible co-financing is as follows:

  • Grant amount:
    • Min: €50,000
    • Maximum: €350,000
  • Loan amount:
    • Min: €100,000
    • Maximum: €4,000,000

Submission of applications

The application can be submitted from the publication of the public call until the individual deadline:

  • deadline until May 16, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.,
  • deadline until June 13, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.,
  • Deadline: July 4, 2025, 4:00 p.m., or until funds are used up.


The application is submitted electronically, via the e-Rsklad application, at www.r-sklad.si.
